1. Who we are

FixMyScan ("we") runs this service. Contact: legal@fixmyscan.com. By using the service you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use it.

2. The service

You upload a PDF and we try to create a converted copy, with cleaned pages, a searchable text layer and optional cropping. We do not change your uploaded original.

3. Your account

You sign in with Google or a link sent to your email. You must be able to enter a binding contract. You are responsible for everything done under your account.

4. Your files

You promise that you own, or have every right and permission needed to upload, copy and process, each file you submit, and that doing so breaks no law and no one else's rights. Your files and what you do with them are your own responsibility. We have no duty to check them.

You keep whatever rights you have in your files. You give us the permission we need to store, process and return them to you.

The service is not a backup. Files are deleted automatically after the period shown in your settings and may be lost sooner. Keep your own copies.

5. Acceptable use

You must not upload anything that infringes rights or contains malware, or try to break, overload, probe or resell the service.

6. Plans and billing

Paid plans are billed when you subscribe and renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in your account and you keep access until the end of the paid period. Fees are not refundable, except where the law requires a refund. We may change prices for future billing periods.

EU consumers: by starting a conversion you ask us to begin the service straight away and accept that your 14-day right of withdrawal ends once the service has been fully performed.

7. No warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", with no warranty of any kind. We make no promise of accuracy, availability, quality or fitness for any purpose, or that the service will be uninterrupted, secure or free of errors. Text recognition makes mistakes. Check every converted file before you rely on it.

8. Liability

Our total liability for all claims connected with the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost data, files, profits or opportunities.

9. Indemnity

You will indemnify FixMyScan against all claims, losses, costs and legal fees that arise from your files, from your use of the service, or from your breach of these terms, including any claim that a file you submitted infringes someone's rights.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account or the service at any time, with or without notice and for any reason. You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time.

11. Changes

We may change the service or these terms at any time by updating this page. If you keep using the service after a change, you accept it.

12. Your mandatory rights

Nothing in these terms removes rights that the law does not allow us to exclude, including mandatory EU consumer rights and liability for death, personal injury, fraud or gross negligence.

13. Law

French law applies and the French courts have jurisdiction, without removing any protection you have as a consumer where you live.
